Photography is a relatively new found passion of mine.  That’s not to say that I havn’t always enjoyed it.  I remember taking pictures with my dad’s old canon cannonet as soon as my hands were big enough to hold it.  But it’s only within the last few years that I’ve really started to enjoy it, to strive to learn and be better at it.

Another passion of mine is music.  Mostly listening too.  I’ve tried to play it; I’ve mentioned a unsuccessful attempt at learning the guitar before, but there’s percussion on the djembe which, I’ve been told, I’m pretty good at.  But listening to is where I really enjoy things.  I’ve grown to listen to all kinds of music.  Since I’ve left the firm base of my apartment, I’ve been listening to a lot of music from my collection on headphones and it’s been pretty wonderful.  I’m hearing things I’ve never heard before listening on speakers and old songs are almost as if I’m hearing them for the first time.  It’s pretty amazing (I find it awesome to hear little things like squeaky bass drum pedals and stools, the noise when a guitarist slides his fingers on the strings).  (Audiophiles would be asking what format I’m listening to it on, and I’d say mp3, to which they’d scoff and say I’m still missing a lot listening to this compressed format…oh well)
